Christine
Christine led her first group travel experience in 2010 when she took a group of under-graduate students to Ghana, West Africa for a three month service learning project. From there Christine moved to Macedonia in Eastern Europe for her Peace Corps assignment and quickly became engaged in the local mountaineering club, venturing on multi-day backpacking expeditions with her host family, it was there that she fell in love with hiking and camping. Since moving back to the States, Christine has continued to immerse herself in the outdoor recreation scene -- she's worked for REI as an Outdoors Instructor and is currently a tenured volunteer group leader for Outdoor Afro. Christine is a firm believer in the statement, “once you camp Black, you never go back”, leading beginner camping events is one of her favorite activities and she loves seeing people transition from initial trepidation to 'camping coverts' over the course of a weekend. Christine is Wilderness First Aid certified.
